WhistleB featured in article on whistleblowing systems in Spain’s Expansión

January 26, 2021

Are you interested in whistleblowing systems in Spain and how they will be affected by the EU Whistleblower Protection Directive? Does your organisation have operations in Spain and is therefore subject to Spanish laws?

If so, this opinion article published in Spain’s largest daily newspaper, Expansión, may be of interest to you. It features WhistleB’s Jan Tadeusz Stappers along with Diego Cabezuela Sancho, Managing Partner of the Spanish Law Firm Círculo Legal, who explain the main requirements that the Directive places on companies and public organisations.

Like all EU member states, work is currently on-going in Spain to get the Directive transposed into national law by the deadline of December 17 2021. The authors therefore briefly review the current situation for whistleblowers in Spain, including anonymity in reporting as well as data access and retention.
